Beautiful two days. The bikes were basic but fine for the terrain. It got surprisingly cool after dark in the valley and I had packed for Hanoi heat — my one mistake, easily avoided.

If you cannot spare four days for Hà Giang, this is the honest smaller version. Less dramatic, much easier, and you still end up somewhere that feels a long way from the city.

Bring closed shoes for cycling and a light layer for the evening. Bicycles are sized on arrival — mention height in advance for a better fit.
